The Florida Ethics Institute (FEI) is excited to announce the launch of its new website, www.floridaethics.org!

Formed by a group of individuals committed to ethics in government as well as ethics law experts, the Institute is a non-partisan not-for-profit organization based in Tallahassee. Its mission is to provide accessible guidance, information, and training services regarding Florida’s ethics laws to public officers, public employees, and to the citizens they serve.

FEI’s founder and Executive Director, Caroline Klancke, stated that “The Florida Ethics Institute is dedicated to meaningful, accessible, ethics education in Florida to assist public servants in their compliance with the state’s Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees and to facilitate a better understanding of ethics in government.”  Ms. Klancke continued “The Florida Ethics Institute is an organization committed to ensuring that a public office is a public trust by providing ethics education and guidance to public officers and employees as well as members of the public and the media wishing to sustain that trust against abuse.”

FEI’s purpose is to protect and advance the cause of ethics in government in the Sunshine State by providing education, training, and information services to public officials and to the public. Ms. Klancke, a former Senior Attorney, General Counsel, and Deputy Executive Director of the Florida Commission on Ethics, who has been practicing in the field of ethics regulation on the state level for more than a decade explained “Floridians want to know that the public sector is working in an impartial, transparent, and fair manner free from corruption. A firm understanding of the Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees is critical to this goal. The Florida Ethics Institute is dedicated to ensuring that the standards of conduct for public officials in Florida are met and exceeded. The Institute will be a resource for public officials seeking to serve in accord with the letter and spirit of the ethics laws.”
